Gypsy Caravan Certified Principal Teacher Training!

Gypsy Caravan Certified Principal Teacher Training!

Gypsy Caravan Tribal Bellydance®

Principal Teacher Training

The workshop material varies in levels, from beginner level movements and concepts to more intermediate technique to themed movements such as earthy or slow content, to the advanced stylings of GCTB.

Purpose:

The Principal Teacher program is designed to deputize dancers to teach official Gypsy Caravan Tribal Bellydance® workshops, as created by Paulette Rees-Denis. The Principal Teachers serve in the capacity of teaching Paulette’s trademarked workshop material, serving a new generation of dancers and broadening the reach of the workshops that traditionally would have only been taught by Paulette. Principal Teachers once awarded their certification, are then able to travel and represent GCTB in festivals and workshops across the globe.

About the Workshops:

These workshops,  taught by the accredited instructors, provide participants, regardless of style or ability, with an immersive experience into Gypsy Caravan Tribal Bellydance® movements, technique, formations, musicality, and staging, depending on level. This program is different from Collective Soul, which is both a certification process as well as a lifestyle holistic approach to the mindset of GCTB, as the workshops are a shorter time period and do not have any certification attached. Moreover, they are set up for a variety of learner abilities with this style in order to participate.

Requirements:

Dancers who have received this certification have been selected by Paulette Rees-Denis, founder of Gypsy Caravan Tribal Bellydance®, as brand ambassadors for this dance style. Each level has specific requirements, but in general, dancers who are selected to be Principal Teachers will have the following characteristics:

  • Certification through CS3 and TT3 at a minimum; higher level certifications are preferred
  • Experience attending Paulette’s past workshops and classes if possible, or those of other Principal Teachers
  • Previous experience either hosting or presenting workshops
  • Previous experience leading a troupe, preferably with a currently performing professional or semi-professional troupe that performs GCTB, and will be available to perform if requested by the workshop sponsor, and being a Caravan Project Director
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to travel if requested to provide a workshop
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and properly execute a wide variety of GCTB movements (if the dancer has not taken a CS and/or TT within the past year, they may be asked to submit examples of current ability)
  • The ability and desire to carry on the lineage and commit to dancing this style of dance

A Note on Principal Teacher Invitation

Because the GCTB Principal Teacher is a direct representative of GCTB and a living embodiment of the brand, much like the GCTB Master Teachers, Paulette Rees-Denis hand selects, and reserves the right to select the dancers who will serve in this role.
