Over the past few weeks, interspersed between other blog posts, I’ve been sharing with you thoughts about living in alignment, from a place of personal resonance. As I do my work, I find myself living with greater truth and integrity, because I am where I am supposed to be, doing the work that rings so true for me, which excites me, and makes me happy and feel fabulous! These ideas are inspired by the five guiding principles called Yamas, which represent goals, ethical rules, and right living practices in the outside world, according to the the Yoga S?tras of Patañjali. They fall into play for me in all of life, from dance, to work, to love. I’ve written about Ahimsa, Satya, and Asteya, and now on to the next idea.
I’ve talked much in the past about walking your talk, or in my case, dancing my talk! I am a doer, and for me I need to speak and dance aloud my truths, my beliefs, and be able to share, teach, and discover with respect and dignity. I act. I have to. It is about managing my energy, with any of my practices, from dance, writing, yoga, guitar strumming, loving, etc. They have to be what I truly desire, or I get wacked. Do you know the feeling? This is the practice of Brahmacharya.
Yes, sometimes we have to do somethings we don’t really want to; but it is best to adjust, to realign your work, your life, to be what you really want. To do your greatest work. To approach life with your true desires, then you can appreciate, celebrate, and respect yourself. Which then carries into the outside world, and makes everyone around you reach a better place too. Or it inspires them to become happier as well. Because we can all make a difference. Yes, we can. It is a big circle, like the dance.
I just finished up two of my Gypsy Caravan Tribal Intensives back in Milwaukee–Collective Soul Level One and Teacher Training Level One. It is exhilarating for me to share this wealth of experience, ideas, technique, exercises, and so much more. And to watch the dancers as they expand and explode with rightness and excitement. Then we know we are BOTH doing the right stuff for our selves. Wow…powerful stuff…
We share, we teach, we learn, we love, we work hard, we reach down deep inside and dance from a place of joy and life and sharing. We dance our talk. We can build what we want, we can make it ours, and we can stand tall and proud and with passion and strength, knowing that we are doing what we want and need to do. To make it right, to keep it right. And it always comes back around.
So…what say You?
And many thanks for being here with me…
