Hello my friends
Wow, I’ve got some news for you, and yes just four more days to get the early bird discount for our incredible women’s weekend retreat at the incomparable Breitenbush Hot Springs in Detroit, OR (just 2 ½ hours drive southeast from Portland!)…This year’s Tribal Quest Experience–Dance and Desire retreat promises to be the best yet.
22nd Annual Women’s Weekend Retreat
Dance and Desire
with Paulette Rees-Denis, Lynea Gillen, and Elena Lipson
April 24-26, 2015
at Breitenbush Hot Springs, Detroit, Oregon
We have joined together at this magical spot for 22 years, creating a vibrant community, full of love and sweat, stretching and dance, words and laughter and tears, communing in the wooded and rustic, mountain resort with our own sisterhood of the dance.
This year is a cause to celebrate!
This year will complete this journey, for me, and for so many of you who have returned year after year, or come even just once…
My dance journey at Breitenbush ends this year (yes, I’ve hinted at this before). It has been a full circle of dancing and sharing and getting to know all of you, sharing my Gypsy Caravan Tribal Bellydance, sharing my words and vision—the Tribal Vision: A Celebration of Life Through Tribal Bellydance—and to have you share a bit of yourself with all of us, and with me!
What an honor, and a true cause for a final celebration! Oh, my journey is not over, by any means, and I will continue to teach and inspire and share the deep love with all of you in new places and new ways (ah, you must wait for that news). Just not at this yearly retreat in the mountains…
So NOW my friend, I invite you to come and join in with us, to celebrate all that you have become, to share your stories; and for you first timers, this is not to be missed… It is always a magical weekend, and you will be transformed, with a new or re-found awareness of self…
Did you see who will be teaching with me? Whoa….
Here is to the amazing Lynea Gillen
who has been on this journey with me for the past ten-ish years, sharing Yoga, Meditation, Drums and Songs, Healing, and that fire-y African Dance too…
and this year I am bringing you the Divine Self-Care Goddess herself-–Elena Lipson!
Because it is so much about taking care of ourselves, first, and then spreading the passion…
And me…as the Tribal Hostess that I am,
I bring you Dance and Desire, with Tribal Bellydance groovin’ workouts, sessions of journaling our dreams and desires, and lively discussions with our dynamic circle of women, and … this time for YOU!
**Register by February 15, 2015 to take advantage of the Early Bird price!
You’ve always wanted to come to this retreat?? Well now is the time! Join us!
This is a fabulous blend for our weekend of Dance and Desire-
add luscious outdoor hot tubbing, steamy saunas, great vegetarian meals, relaxing time to hike, walk the labyrinth, nap, visit, get a massage, in the peacefulness of the mountains, and our circle of dancing women.
Join us to dance,
to be nourished and to nourish,
to dream and be dreamed,
to honor and cherish ourselves.
We will dance together, Tribal Bellydance–the Gypsy Caravan way–
We will Map our Desires

Tribal Trance — to move in meditation
Heal — self-care and self-love is where to start
Tribal Groove — to move it out and celebrate
Stretch — into and out of our comfort zones
Listen — inwardly, deeply

We have asked the women : What was your favorite thing about the weekend?
- Beautiful location, dancing, being with friends, great food and of course soaking in the tubs.
- The energy of the space that we hold. The dance, laughter and the tears.
- Dance jam Saturday night
- Hard to pick just one thing. Probably the community and sisterhood. I have never experienced anything like it. I felt welcome, encouraged, supported and able to do anything without being judged.
- Can’t decide – food, dance, friends and soaking!
- The variety of wonderful instruction, getting to see more of classmates I barely knew, meeting a wonderful new roommate.
What was your least favorite thing about the weekend?
- Wish it was a bit longer.
- Sunday when it was over.
- That it had to end.
So, do join us and make this year the best yet!
As always, I thank you for being here, and for sharing the collective and the individual journeys…
See you soon…
