Ever get lost?
In your head? Daily life? Journey?
Sometimes I get myself frustrated, my own doing of course, when I allow the pressures, the deadlines, the chores, of everyday life combined with life dreams to weigh me down. I, too, get caught up in my to-do list, thinking I can be Wonder Woman on a daily basis, and then the overwhelm hits, and dang…just knocked off my feet and out of my daily presence habit and my everyday work mode.
So how does one stop that from happening? Don’t know if I can stop it, but I can change it when it does happen. That means STOP! Now…sit down and breathe.
Now what? Take out my journal and write, like my morning pages ( a la Julia Cameron, see link below), time to get empty and clear, so I can refocus and move slowly forward through each day. Bring myself back to myself. Then what I was wanting to do becomes clearer. Then I step, away, and go workout, yoga, walking, Zumba, tribal bellydance groove, raking leaves, whatever to let it go for a while. Doing something physical for me is a great shaker! Gets my energy up, my mood brighter, my blood pumping, my mind free, and my body feeling better. Then I can come back, fresher, clearer, happier and feel like I can join the human race again!
Now I can go back to your journal, my notes, my dreams…and start writing again, this time with clarity and focus.
